This year Pastor Joe Buldoc will be bringing the challenge from God’s word.

Camp Sankanac’s Father & Son Retreat is put on by The Call Outdoors (A ministry of Camp Sankanac). The Call Outdoors uses hunting and the outdoors as an avenue to share the Gospel of Christ and to edify and encourage believers in their daily walk with the Lord. Our love for hunting runs deep, but our passion for sharing Christ is foremost! Some of our ministry tools are church game dinners, evangelistic hunting DVDs, special events (such as speaking at Father/Son Retreats, and hosting outdoor outreach events such as the Fisherman’s Pancake Breakfast at Sankanac), local hunting outings, and hunting trips to collect footage for our DVDs. All of these aspects of ministry are used to spread the Gospel. In the last 5 years, we have been blessed to present the Gospel to over 6,000 people so far and have seen the Lord bring over 800 people to Himself!

Special Guest/Entertainment

This year we have booked Jesse Rothacker with  Forgotten Friend Outreach. Forgotten Friend Outreach rescues reptiles and exotic animals and shares their reptiles through their presentations with schools, churches, libraries, scouts, television and radio, and many other events. His show is scheduled for Saturday from 7-8 pm and we can’t wait to see his awesome presentation. We hope you’ll join us for another great weekend!

We encourage church groups to email us with a list of attendees so we can house you all together. If you need accessible or other special housing arrangements, please let us know as soon as possible. Most cabins are unheated, so warm bedding and clothing are recommended. Thanks!

Our team, The Call Outdoors ministry (, exists to encourage men in their walk with Christ and to reach those who don’t know him with the Gospel. This event is one of the highlights of our year as we are blessed to witness so many fathers & sons enjoying outdoor activities, growing closer together and closer to God. We want to thank all of The Call Outdoors volunteers that help us put this event on – there’s a lot of work involved and we greatly appreciate all of those who go above and beyond to help with this event!
Whether you’re brand new to this event, or you’ve been coming for years, come prepared for an awesome weekend of fun activities, great fellowship & encouragement from God’s Word. We hope to see you there!!

6:30-7:20pm Arrive

All programing will be finished at 9 P.M. on Saturday evening at the conclusion of the Forgotten Friend Outreach reptile program. However, you are more than welcome to stay another night at camp (Saturday night). We will provide a small continental breakfast at 7 A.M. for those who choose to stay over. We do strongly encourage everyone that attends our father/son weekend to attend your home church on Sunday morning. Don’t miss out on worshiping with your home church body! 🙂

We will operate our fall retreats and programming very similar to our summer camp Covid19 action plan, available HERE. We will be limiting eating spaces to 25 per space and we will be encouraging social distancing through out the weekend. Our foodservice staff will provide full-service and will be masked and gloved. If social distancing can not be achieved, we ask that you wear a mask (particularly when getting your food, transitioning from place to place and if indoors where social distancing can’t be achieved). Housing, as always, will be spread out as much as possible, with a goal of having one father/son couple per cabin, unless you request another father/son couple to stay with. We will not allow cabins to become crowded, so larger groups may need to split into two cabins.
